Major League Baseball Player. He began his major league career on April 11, 1912, as a shortstop for the Chicago White Sox. An excellent infielder, he was switched to third base and was known as the only third baseman in the league that Ty Cobb would not bunt against. During the 1919 World Series known as the Black Sox Scandal, Weaver played error-less ball in the Series and batted .324. At the grand jury trial on the a ledge fix to loose the Series, he was banned from playing pro ball for having knowledge of the gambling scam and failing to tell team officials. Weaver applied six times for reinstatement to baseball and for the rest of his life, claimed that he had nothing to do with the fix. In the 1988 movie "Eight Men Out", Buck Weaver was portrayed by actor John Cusack. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)

MLB did you a huge disservice. It's a travesty that you were banned from the game you loved. RIP
