One time Chisholm Trail driver, Oklahoma homesteader and always a friend of man, Isaac Heaton Hall, Pioneer resident of Marlow and vicinity, has gone to his final resting place.
Mr. Hall, 80 years, seven months and 29 days old, passed away at his home, 711 West McNeese Avenue, Sunday night. Funeral services were conducted from the Broadway Church of Christ Monday afternoon at four o'clock. Rev. Spencer of Rush Springs was in charge of the services.
Mr. Hall was born in Lancaster, Dallas county, Texas on July 26, 1848 to Peter and Susannah Heaton Hall. In 1870 he drove a herd of about 1000 head of cattle along the Chisholm Trail, through what is now Marlow, to a railroad point in Nebraska. The aged man had been a member of the Church of Christ since July, 1876 and was always considered a kindly man.
In 1901, at the opening of the country, Mr. Hall homesteaded a place in the Burns community, west of Marlow where he and his family lived until moving to Marlow in the fall of 1916.
Surviving Mr. Hall are his wife, Mrs. Amanda Augusta Hall; five daughters, Mrs. Effie Wilkerson, Mrs. Maud Allen, Mrs. Eula Bird, Miss Emmie Hall, Mrs. Donie Lowery, Paducah, Texas; and three sons, Ernest and John Hall, both of Burns community and Herman Hall of Marlow, all of whom were at the funeral. Dr. P.B. Hall of Marlow, S.Z. Hall of Frederick, and W.E. Hall of Springtown, Texas, all brothers, attended the funeral. P.E.Hall, of Hermiston, Oregon, another brother, and Mrs. Mollie Wren of Breckenridge, Texas, who is ill, were not present.
