BURIED ON EASTER SUNDAY
Mrs. Verbenia Lane was born in Shelby County, Alabama in 1842. She came to Texas in early day, resided in several counties of the Lone Star State. She was 83 years of age. She died near Raleigh, Texas on Saturday, April 11, at the home of her youngest son J. K. Lane, Jr. She was laid to rest beside her
husband, J. K. Lane, in the Antioch Cemetery in Freestone county, Texas, April 12.
She leaves behind five sons and two daughters. J. H. LANE of Liberty Hill, Texas, J. L. LANE of Hubbard, Texas. S. S. LANE of Buffalo, Texas, B. L. LANE of Buffalo, Texas, J. K. LANE JR., of Frost, Texas, MRS. MAE DANIEL of Frost, Texas, MRS. ETHEL BENNETT of Richland, Texas. Seven children, sixty-two grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren survive her.
The children were all present in her last days here on earth and all was done that loving hands could do. Also many neighbors and friends help in attending her in her illness and death. May God's richest blessings be bestowed upon them one and all. A great host of friends and relatives attended the funeral on Easter Sunday. Bouquets of flowers covered the grave.

"Fairwell Mother, you rest you, as flowers o'er you wave. Fairwell Mother, you are resting near your loved one in the grave. We will not forget you, Mother, as we journey on thru life, and someday we will be united where we will never know strife."
