Long-time Wilbur resident Dorothea E. Johnson, passed away April 28, 2002, in Davenport, where she was a resident of the Lincoln Nursing Home. She was 90.

Dorothea was born in Wilbur on April 25, 1912 to Aage and Mary Elizabeth (Oswalt) Jurgensen. She was a graduate of Wilbur High School and married Raymond Johnson. She was a member of Wilbur Lutheran Church, Wilbur Grange, and Wilbur Cemetery Board, and she was a long-time 4-H leader.

She is survived by four grandchildren, Kevin Johnson of Wilbur, Jana Schillinger of Las Vegas, NV, Stephanie Davis of Reardan, and Tori Durand of Moxee, WA; 10 great grandchildren, Drew Johnson, Holly Schillinger, Lacy Schillinger, Kent Davis, Raylene Davis, Alex Durand, Haley Durand, Alan Shaner, Ashley Shaner, and Anthony Glover. In addition, she is survived by twin brothers, Ronald and Donald Jurgensen, both of Wilbur; and two sisters, Loma Seavey of Tacoma and Florence Hansen of Wilbur.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Johnson; one son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Donna Johnson; one brother, George Jurgensen; and special friend, Bob Rawe.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 3, at the Wilbur Lutheran Church with Pastor Mary Daniels officiating. Concluding services and vault interment followed at the Wilbur Cemetery. Services were directed by Strate Funeral Home of Wilbur.
