Donita Walker, 78, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God, 420 Blue Mound Road, Saginaw, Pastor Harley Martin officiating. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.
Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Feed The Children, care of Larry Jones, 333 N. Meridian Ave., Oklahoma City, Okla. 73107.
Donita was born Jan. 8, 1930, in Stonewall, Okla., to William and Willie Stephens Scrivner. She had resided in Fort Worth and the Blue Mound area since 1960. Donita was a member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God in Saginaw. She retired from the Blue Mound Police Department and the Forest Hill Police Department as a dispatcher. She also served as the first city councilwoman in Blue Mound in the mid '60s. Her favorite activities included church, women's ministries, and spending time with family. Donita was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Walker, in June 1994.
Survivors: Sons, Dale Riggs and wife, Dorothy, of Saginaw, and J.D. Taylor and wife, Pattie, of Arlington; grandchildren, Dana Boyd and husband, Kris, Susan Clifford and husband, Travis, Jarrod Riggs, Justin Riggs and Andy Taylor; and great-grandsons, Bryce, Brady and Brock Boyd.
