James Logue was the son of Mary Buchanan Sproul (1770-1840) and John Logue (1758-1833).

The Logue family crest is shown in the photo on the right.

He was a Private during the War of 1812 in a Company commanded by Captain Andrew Porter of the 132nd Regiment see page 61 commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Dale, Pennsylvania State Militia.

He married Susanna W. "Susan" Dunkle (1799-1855) on May 7, 1822 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania.
