A graveside service for John Henry Connelly, 86, a Walker, Calif., resident for 23 years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Antelope Valley Cemetery in Coleville.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home.
Mr. Connelly died June 3, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Sept. 10, 1916, in Denver to Henry Francis and Genevine Snodgrass Connelly.
He graduated from Fairfax High School in California.
Before moving to Walker, he lived in Alhambra, Calif., for 19 years and Fallon for 18 years.
Mr. Connelly worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1980, and was a diary rancher in Fallon. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Walker branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his rose garden.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his sister.
Among his survivors are his wife, Ruth of Walker; sons John II of Grants Pass, Ore., Mickey of Walker and Tommy of Fallon; daughter, Margret Connelly-Isbell of Walker; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
