M.A. Clayton, a lifetime resident of Suwannee County and widely known farmer in the Falmouth section, died Sunday night in a Jacksonville hospital following a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Berry D. Bourn, pastor of the First Methodist Church here, at the Mt. Olive Christian Church, and were followed by interment in the adjacent cemetery where Masonic rites were conducted. Mr. Clayton was a member of Hayward Lodge No. 45, F. & A.M. He was a member of the Christian Church. Mr. Clayton is survived by his widow, Mary Warner Clayton; a daughter in Jacksonville; two sons, M.A. Clayton, Jr., Valdosta, and Alfred Clayton, Chattahoochee; and a number of nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. The Wilson Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
