Lorenzo William Allcock was the son of Norvell Spencer Allcock & Lucy Henry (Page) Allcock, and the grandson of William Allcock & Catey (Page) Allcock of Amherst Co., VA.
He married March 3, 1859, Madison Co., IA to Ann Rebecca Knott, the daughter of Isaac Knott & Drucilla (Parsons) Knott. Lorenzo served in the Civil War from Madison Co., IA and was wounded by a minnie ball in the lung. He spent a long time in the Hospital in Illinois and his family thought him dead, but then one day he came walking up the lane to the house. They had children: Asbury Francis, who died in infancy, William Asbury, Samuel Sherman, Simon Milton, & Marion Rawleigh Allcock/Allcox/Alcox/Alcott. Lorenzo died young because of his wounds and the widow Ann R. Allcock married 2nd to Solomon O'Dell, whose wife Frances Caskey had also passed away. Lorenzo & Ann are both buried in the Sayre Cemetery.
