Wayne Harvey Ashford, 84, passed away at Mt. Diablo Medical Center in Concord on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 following a short illness.
Wayne was born June 4, 1920 at Dunsmuir, California, a son of Harry and Minnie Ashford, and has resided the past 53 years in Contra Costa County.
He worked as Senior Accountant for Allstate Insurance Company in the Contra Costa County area for 35 years, and had previously worked as an accountant for H.J. Heinz Company.
His greatest love was being behind the wheel of a recently detailed brand new car.
He will be missed by his beloved wife of 64 years, Marguerite Ashford of Concord; by his loving children, Joan E. Curl and her husband Bruce L. Curl, Sr., of Warrenton, MO, and Gary S. Ashford and his wife Angela L. Ashford of Pleasant Hill, CA.; by his adoring grandchildren, Shannon, Shelly, Nichole, Brett, and Mariah; and by his adored great grandchildren, Kiersten, Dustin, and Austyn.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2004, at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, 4125 Clayton Road, Concord.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2004, at Ouimet Bros. Concord Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Oakmont Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette, CA.
