Born Bernard Jeffrey McCullough, he began his career as a stand up comic in Chicago's Cotton Pickin' Club and in 1990, he won the Miller Lite Comedy Search at age 32. As a popular comedian, he toured the country appearing on late night TV and hosted the HBO talk show "Midnight Mac". In 2001, Fox Television Network gave him his own sitcom, "The Bernie Mac Show" which he received two Emmy nominations for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, in 2002 and 2003. His many feature film credits include Ocean's Eleven (2001), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003), Mr. 3000 (2004), Ocean's Twelve (2004), Guess Who (2005) and Ocean's Thirteen (2007).
