Marjorie A. Bennett, 71, of Blair, Neb., died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, in Blair.

She was born Dec. 18, 1936, in Scott City, to George and Mary Finton Bennett. She graduated from Scott City High School, attended beauty school in Dodge City and then worked in Dodge City.

On Aug. 16, 1960, she married Lavern Bennett in Webster, S.D. After their marriage, she began working for Modern Beauty before becoming the owner and operator of Mar Bee in 1970. She was involved with the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Blair, serving as state president and as national secretary, and was a member of the Red Hat Society and Blair ladies bridge club.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair, with graveside service in Holy Cross Cemetery.
