John P. Burger, 78, dies in Sonora
TWAIN HARTE --John Peter Burger, 78, resident here since 1927 and a native of Virginia, died Saturday in a hospital in Sonora following a lengthy illness.
Burger is survived by his widow, Mrs. Annette C. Burger, of Twain Harte; a son, William H. Burger, of Ceres; two daughters, Mrs. Ruby Burrows, of El Monte and Mrs. Mary Worre, of San Francisco; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services, under direction of the Burden Undertaking Company of Sonora, were held Tuesday in the Wood Colony Church near Modesto, followed by interment in the Wood Colony Cemetery.
