ELGIN - Milton Herchel Erickson, 82, of Elgin, died Thursday, May 29, 1997, at Grand Ronde Hospital in La Grande.
The funeral was 1 p.m. today at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Mr. Erickson was born Sept 17, 1913, at Page, Wash., to Frederick and Clara Walls Erickson. He was raised in the Elgin area and attended Gordon Creek School.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. as a cook.
Mr. Erickson lived in the Hermiston area for over 30 years. He and his 2nd wife, Nellie helped start the Umatilla Senior Center.
He was a member of the Baptist Church in Hermiston and attended Valley Fellowship in La Grande. He was a member of the Hermiston Eagles Lodge.
Mr. Erickson enjoyed gardening and dancing.
Survivors include sons, Tony and Ed, both of Elgin and Milton of Sparks, Nev.; two grandchildren; brother Wade Wells of Elgin; and sisters, Edna Flannery of La Grande and Martha Cross of Elgin. He was preceded in death by a son Marvin, a brother, Swede, and his wife Nellie
Daniels Chapel of the Valley, La Grande, is in charge of arrangements.
