Charlotte was the only daughter of Fred Jackson Smith(1898-1978) & Alma Verdery Mitcham Smith(1900-1991). She married Frederick "Douglas" Rowe(1926-1977) on August 27, 1949 in Laurinburg, Scotland County, NC. They had two children: Carol Margaret & Frederick Douglas Jr. Rowe. They had 4 grandaughters: Rebekah Leigh Duncan Young, Amy Lynn Duncan Stinchcomb, Jennifer Marie Duncan Cook & Mariah Eileen Duncan. They have 6 great-granchildren: Tyler Jordan Young, Lauren Taylor Stinchcomb, Austin Slade Duncan Cook, Devon Chandler Young, Kellan Grant Stinchcomb & Duncan Lane Toland.
