RAYMOND G. BORGER

Raymond George Borger, 86, a resident of Stephenson Nursing Center, died this morning at Freeport Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
In his early years he was a farmer and then was employed by Fairbanks-Morse Co. Later he was maintenance man at Second National Bank and then at the YMCA for many years. He was a member of Embury United Methodist Church.
Born May 25, 1895, in rock Run Township, Stephenson County, he was the son of George and Eliza (Meyers) Borger. He married Viola Young Nov. 4, 1921, in Freeport.
Surviving are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Eleanor (Glen) Kaney of Forreston, Mrs. Margaret (Roy) Viel of Winnebago and Mrs. Clara (Fred) Bauscher of Freeport; three sons, William R. of Miami, Fla., Robert G. of Toledo, Ohio, and Melvin E. of Freeport; two brothers, Thomas of Freeport and Roy of Cedarville; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Walker Mortuary with the Rev. William H. Blomberg, pastor of Embury United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
A memorial fund has been established for Embury United Methodist Church.
