Albert J. Peake, 62, of Fargo, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in Mahnomen.
Albert James Peake was born to Josephine (Butcher) and Harry Peake on March 9, 1946 in White Earth. As a child, he grew up in Pine Point, near Ponsford, where he attended school through the 12th grade.
Albert served in the United States Army during the years of 1963-65. Later, Albert moved to the Minneapolis, area, where he worked several years as a machine operator at a flour plant. Throughout the years, Albert was able to further his education, earning a business degree. A few years ago, he moved to Moorhead, and lived with his brother for a short time. At the time of his death, Albert was living in Fargo, where he worked at Harvest States. He also worked at a veteran's volunteer program at the VA Hospital there.
In his spare time, Albert enjoyed traditional native dancing, running, going to the casino and traveling. He was a proud member of the White Earth Veterans Association Honor Guard. Albert also loved visiting and teasing his friends.
Surviving Albert are his parents; two sons, Jeffery A. Peake and Nathan Adams; one daughter, Laureen M. Peake and one brother, William L. Butcher.
Funeral services were held on Monday, July 14, at the Old Pine Point School in Ponsford. Burial took place at Breck Memorial Episcopal Cemetery.
