Clarence E. Bennett, formerly of 94 Dunning Ave., died late Friday evening in a nursing home in Genoa. He was born in Montour County, Pa., and resided in Auburn for about 26 years. Mr. Bennett was employed by the Columbian Rope Co. for 25 years, retiring a year ago. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Salem Town Masonic Lodge 176, of Cayuga.
Surviving him are his widow, Carrie Hutchison Bennett of Genoa; two sons, M. Leslie Bennett of Auburn RD 5, and Ernest A. Bennett of Auburn; a grandson, Robert K. Bennett of Albuquerque, N. M.; two brothers, Arthur L. Bennett of Williamsport, Pa., and H. Elmer Bennett of Auburn; and two great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at the Lester E. Brew Funeral Chapel with the Rev. George B. Davies, pastor of Calvary Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Springport. Friends may call at the funeral from 3 to 5 p. m. Sunday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p. m. Monday.
