Funeral services for William A. Howard, long-time resident of Suwannee County who resided at 402 Hamilton Avenue, were held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 PM at the Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Aubrey Houston, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Charlie Webb, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Live Oak, officiating. Burial was in the Live Oak Cemetery. Mr. Howard was a native of Madison County and was 86 years of age at the time of his demise.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Advent Christian Church of Live Oak. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Henderson, Live Oak, Mrs. R.V. Johnston, Jacksonville, and Mrs. Murrell Green, Gainesville: five sons, Worth Howard, Chief of Police Elwood Howard, Theron Howard, H.M. Howard, and Edward Howard, all of Live Oak: 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Active pallbearers were Ray Howard, Bill Howard, Randy Howard, Lamar Howard, Danny Ryals, and Ronnie Ryals. Honorary pallbearers were Claude Green, Robert Howard, Joe Greene, Dexter Cannon, Alton Bonds, Bill Owens, Larry Martin, Truett Johnson, and Green Nolan. The James B. Daniels Funeral Home of Live Oak had charge of the arrangements.
