AMORY Raymond Adams Jr., 66, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at the Nashville Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1933, to Raymond Adams Sr. and Birdie Ray-Adams. He was a Baptist and a retired employee of the R.C. Cola Company. He enjoyed fishing.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Prairie Mount United Methodist Church with Elder Melvin Adams officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Mount Cemetery in Okolona. Jackson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Sue H. Adams of Amory; four sons, Melvin Adams and his wife, Marilyn, of Amory, Donnell Adams and his wife, Jewel, of Hattiesburg, Marvin Adams and his wife, Kimberly, of San Antonio, Texas, and Frankie Adams of Nashville; one daughter, Annie Freeman of Amory; two sisters, Annie Adams, and Mary Carrouthers and her husband, James, all of Okolona; one brother, James Adams of Chicago; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.
