The DAR Patriot Index Pt2 indicates a correction to this name from prior submissions. Horn's "Proceedings of the Reunion of Apple's Church and of the Boehm Family" gives the surname SCHREIBER on p. 101. Heller gives the surname SCHRIEBER on p. 328, but his work seems to be based on Horn, so perhaps the name was merely transcribed: "He married Anna Barbara Schrieber, born November 2, 1747, who survived him sixteen years, dying October 10, 1832. By stipulation with the buyers she continued her residence in the old home, a stone house, now standing on what is known as the Geissinger farm. Philip and Anna Barbara were both buried at Lower Saucon Reformed Church graveyard." -- From "History of Northampton Co. and the Grand Valley of the Lehigh", under the supervision and revision of William J. Heller, New York: The American Historical Society, 1920, p. 328.

Elsewhere she is referred to as Anna Barbara or Barbara only.

I am inclined to accept the DAR change, as many people have used SCHREIBER in the past and it's likely that the change was well-documented, as they claim.

"Early PA Births (1675-1875)", Compiled by Dr. Charles A. Fisher, F.I.A.G., Historian and Genealogist, Selinsgrove, PA, 1947 (photocopied by Leslie Wischmann) lists a Barbara DESHLER, dob 11/2/1747, from Lehigh Co., daughter of Adam DESHLER (p. 56). This is the same dob listed in Lizzie Moyer FULMER's DAR application, and would tend to support the theory that Barbara's surname was truly DESHLER. Quite a puzzle.

"Some sources list her last name as SCHREIBER, a reliable source says that her sister married a SCHREIBER." -- photocopies of 'church history book'
