Ethel C. Francis, 82, passed away June 7, 1983 at a nursing home at Alton, IL. She was born on November 1, 1900 at Farmington, MO, to the late William L. Tinnin and Maude (Pratt) Tinnin. On November 9, 1918 she married Clarence H. Francis. He died July 7, 1978.
Survivors include one son, Vernon Francis of Virginia Beach, VA; three daughters, Carolyn Strain of Bethalto, IL; Wilma Anderson of Jerseyville, IL; and Jean Strain of Florissant, IL; one brother, H.G. Tinnin of Glendora, CA; seven grandchildren and nine great-granchildren.
One sister, Mae Eaker, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Francis was a lifetime resident of the Lutesville area and at one time owned and operated a restaurant here.
She was a member of the Lutesville Methodist Church.
Services will be Thursday at Ward-Liley Funeral Home. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery near Lutesville.
