Smith died outside Jarvis Store, Jarvis, Knox County, Kentucky; Smith, a coal miner, died suddenly at 9AM on 20 Dec. He parked and exited his truck at Jarvis Store and (apparently) dropped dead. Strangely, NO AUTOPSY was performed and no further explanation given for cause of death. Informant: wife Hazel; Smith was age 42.
Smith McKeehan, the son of James "Jim Buck" McKeehan and Dosha Terrel, is a 3rd cousin to my father and a 5th generation descendent of family founders, Benjamin McKeehan and Mary Hickey, settlers in S E Kentucky, in early 1800's.
He married Hazel Mae Hodge in 1934. They were the proud parents of (4): Patsy, Shirley, John and Iris.
Smith was laid to rest in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Pineville, Bell County, Dec 22, 1953. . . . . . . . . . .(J McKeehan Keeney)
