bessie is the daughter of thurman and hazel hall roe. she had lived in auburn since 1949. bessie had waitressed at several area restaurants including the sherwood inn of skaneateles. she was a member and past president of the swietoniowski-kopeczek american legion auxiliary, a member of the v.f.w. post1975 auxiliary and the falcon sportsman club. an avid bowler, she was a member of the 500 club and had supervised the bantam and junior bowling leagues at the polish home for many years. surviving are six sons; walter roe,david holt,michael,mark,robert and patrick thurston. two daughters; mrs emily alongi and karen schenck. eight sisters; lottie mae cheslo,louise wilson,sharon hock,carolyn abrams, mary anne arnsman, verna harrington, josephine millan and wanda nolan. four brothers; raymond,john,phillip and leroy roe. an aunt; lillian roe, 17 grandchildren, one step grandchild, 10 great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. predeceased her husband; edward w. thurston in july 1969
