Grace M. Alexander, 76, of LeMars, Iowa, died Friday, June 30, 1995, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 6 at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Lenox. Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery.
Rev. Bob Shreve officiated the service. Bonnie Halligan served as organist. Pallbearers were Steve Roe, Alan Key, Dave Ruden, Paul Lynam, Gary Ellis, and Denny Koopman.
Grace Mary Roe was born March 12, 1919, in rural Taylor County near Lenox, Iowa, to Jesse and Mary (Cipra) Roe. She graduated from Lenox High School in 1937. She was united in marriage to Karmon Alexander on September 18, 1941, at Kansas City, Kansas.
During WW II, Grace worked at the Fairfax Bomber Plant in Kansas City building B-25 bombers. She worked for General Electric in several positions retiring as a Payroll Accountant for the Kansas City area after 39 years of service.
Grace moved to LeMars in 1989 to be near her brother Gene Roe and his family.
Survivors include three sisters: Marjory Paton of Reinbeck, Iowa; Bonnie Ridgley and her husband Herb of Miami, Florida; and Doris Key and her husband Reldon of Lenox; a brother Dean Roe and his wife Lucy of Stuart, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Gini Roe of LeMars; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Karmon who died February 2, 1980; two brothers, John and Gene Roe; a brother-in-law, Alan Paton; and a sister-in-law, Millie Roe.
Arrangements were by Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of LeMars.
