George Harry Teeters Sr., age 72, passed this life on Friday, April 22, 2005 at the Wagoner Care Center.
He was born in Mokane, Missouri on June 8, 1932 to Allen and Ola Pearl (Adams) Teeters .
He served in the United States Army for over two years during the Korean War. After returning from Korea, George went to work in Missouri and Oklahoma as a lineman for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad retiring in 1954. After leaving the Missouri-Pacific Railroad, George went to work for McDonald-Douglas for 38 years making tools for airplane assembly working as a draftsman and master layout tool and die inspector.
He was an avid race car enthusiast and looked forward to each new racing season. During racing season, George was in the race zone. No one could carry on a conversation very long when he was watching the races on TV. George was known for his passion for fishing, his quick wit, his humor and that special little grin that let all of us know when he was happy, that said it all. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends and all of us who knew him.
He is survived by his two sons, Ricky Teeters and wife Carol, of Palm Dale, California, and George Teeters Jr. and his wife Pattie of Wagoner, Okla.; nieces, Carol "Pee Wee" Samson and husband Roger of Linn, Mo., Mary Morgan of Mexico, Mo.; nephews, Allen Summers and wife Julia of Wagoner, Bobby Summers of Tebbetts, Mo., Larry and John Summers, both of Jefferson City, Mo., and Jerry Summers of Holts Summit, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Sue Teeters ; one sister, Mary Virginia Summers; and nephews, Terry Summers and Johnny Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with Chaplain Marvel Barron officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery.
