Lucretia Jane Cloer was the oldest daughter and second child of John and Lucretia Cloer. Her family was living in Pickens County, Alabama at the time of the 1830 and 1840 censuses. They are listed in Fayette County for the 1850 census.
Lucretia and Raymond McDaniel were married in Fayette County in 1847; their oldest child was born there in July 1849. By the start of the Civil War, their family had grown to six children; two more children were born after the war. The family had moved to Texas by the time their last child was born in 1867.
In 1872, their daughter Frances Elizabeth was married in Freestone County, Texas; and the 1880 census finds Lucretia and Raymond in Wise County, Texas.
At the time of her death, Lucretia and Raymond were making their home in Crystal Falls, Stephens County; but they were visiting their youngest daughter, Margaret, in Denton County. She is buried in Pilot Point, Denton County, while her husband, Raymond, is buried in Crystal Falls.
The spelling of her first name on her headstone is probably incorrect. The name has been given to daughters in several generations of the family, and their names have been spelled "Lucretia" not "Loucretia". It seems likely that a mistake was made when the headstone was ordered.
Lucretia and Raymond had eight children:
Raymond Reed McDaniel (1827 - 1907)
Frances Elizabeth McDaniel Brinkley (1848 - 1914)*
William Thomas McDaniel (1852 - 1936)*
George Washington McDaniel (1852 - 1934)*
Cullen Ollie McDaniel (1854 - 1934)*
Lucinda Jane McDaniel Jones (1859 - 1946)*
Aurora Victoria McDaniel Gordon (1860 - 1946)*
Margaret Angeline McDaniel Foster (1866 - 1949)*
Robert Lee McDaniel (1867 - 1931)*
