Birth: 1816
Glocester

Rhode Island, USA
Death: Jan. 8, 1893
Pawtucket
Providence County
Rhode Island, USA

Husband of Elizabeth Crowell Paine, Married Oct 6,1842 at North Providence,RI.

Children: Augustus Stanley Paine, Emma Frances Paine Godfrey, Gilbert Martin Paine, Henry Potter Paine, Mary E Paine Howes, Amos C Paine, Clarissa "Clara" Fidelia Paine Wood Meacham(mother of Chester Gorham Wood and Henry Augustus Wood), and Margaret B Paine.

NOTE: He and his wife Elizabeth are almost certainly buried in Moshassuck Cemetery, though it is uncertain whether stones exist. In cemetery records are two lot cards. One owned by Pliny Paine and one owned by Thomas W D Godfrey (Pliny's son-in-law). The purchase date for both was 19 Dec 1868. The one owned by Pliny was an exchange and had a Elizabeth Cook listed without a date. I'm wondering if while typing this card her last name was corrupted from the written on older card or ledger. Her stone's only ledgible word is Elizabeth. Its an old white and weathered marker. The lot letters and numbers have changed from the older systems. The Godfrey lot was listed as Secion D Ave. O lot #21 and also as #260. It is now Ave N # 396. Pliny's lot was Ave O # 23 and now Ave N #402-B.
