Eliasaph Merriman Sr cause of death was from grief over his 10 year old daughter Abigail's death. Eliasaph was an Ensign in the Wallingford Militia in 1735, LT in 1740 and Capt of this Militia in 1743. He married Abigail Hull, daughter of Dr Benjamin and Elizabeth Andrews Hull, 10 Dec. 1717. They had 15 children. Their son Eliasaph Merriman Jr (buried in Center Street Cemetery) was in the Wallingford Militia and is a recognized Patriot of the DAR.
