FONTANELLE MAN DIES MONDAY

Joseph Daiss was Fontanelle Resident for Many Years

Joseph H. Daiss, a lifelong resident of the Nickerson/Fontanelle neighborhood, died Monday morning in an Omaha hospital from the effects of a tumor on the brain. He had been ill for two years, and had been taking treatment in the University hospital in Omaha for three months.

Mr. Daiss was born January 4, 1894 at Fontanelle, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charle Daiss. As a youth he was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Fontanelle, but later became a member of the Methodist church at Nickerson. He was married to Miss Maude Ochse at Fontanelle October 11, 1916.

Mr. Daiss is survived by his wife, three children, Robert, Mina and Vesta, three brothers, Charles, William and Lawrence, and two sisters, Mrs. Hanna Ladd of Fremont and Miss Dora of Bancroft.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Fontanelle Lutheran church with Rev. Wm. Goode officiating. Interment was in the Fontanelle cemetery.
