Eileen M Arnhold, 73, Hays Good Samaritan Center, died Nov 2, 1998, Hays Medical Center. She was born Sept 20, 1925, in Ellis to Joseph and Barbara (Riedel) Bieker.

She married Fred J Arnhold on Oct 30, 1944, in Hays. He died Sept 19, 1997.

She was a former cook and dietitian at Hays Good Samaritan Center, a former cook at Thomas More Prep Marian High School and restaurant manager at the Hays Livestock Center. She was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, VFW Auxiliary of Hays, and a former Daughters of Isabella member.

Survivors include seven sons, Fred Jr, Russell, Tom, Woodward, OK, Rick and Steve, both of Hays, David, Owensville, MO, Tim, Loveland, CO, and Jeff, Wichita; three daughters, Marilyn Norris, Wichita, Audrey Montgomery, Derby, and Liz Crull, Marengo, IL; her mother, Barbara Bieker, Hays; two brothers, Robert Bieker, Ellis, and Don Bieker, Topeka; four sisters, Viola Billinger, Marlene Gottschalk and Lillian Bieker, all of Hays, Mary Goetz, Salina; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, Alvin, and a sister JoAnne Guimond.

Services were Nov 4 at St Joseph Catholic Church with Fathers Michael Suchnicki and Paulinus Karlin officiating; burial in St Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to Thomas More Prep Marian High School.
