Lillie B. Shell, 80, Rt. 2, Eubank, died Wednesday, May 4, at Lake Cumberland Medical Center following an illness of several years.

Born Nov. 7, 1896, in Floyd County, she was a daughter of Samuel and Violet Hackworth May, both of whom preceded her in death. She married W.H. Shell Jan. 8, 1915, in Pulaski County. He preceded her in death in 1951.

Survivors include five children, Henry M. Shell and Carrie Marie Smith, both of Eubank; Joseph Shell and Jack Shell, both of Christiansburg, Ohio; Violet Sowders, Troy, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. Dora May, Troy, Ohio.

She had lived here most of her life where she was a housewife and member of Eubank Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Deeter-Baird Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio, with Rev. Beecher Critchfield officiating.

Burial was in Upper Honey Creek Cemetery, Christiansburg, Ohio.

She was a loving grandmother, always willing to lend a helping hand in the garden, cooking, or housework. She was never idle, making quilts in her "spare" time. Grandma was also a caregiver for others.

She loved all of her family, and they loved her. Family members are blessed to have special handwritten letters from her. She made everyone feel special and loved. She was the special one.
