Mr. Basil Charleston, 81, 29 Depot Street died Thursday, May 8, 1986 at Massena Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Surviving are his wife, Regina; four sons, Russell D. of Louisville, Ronald D. and Roderick D., both of Massena, Richard E. of Ogdensburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers.
He was born in North Stockholm on April 13, 1905, son of George and Minnie Strader Charleston. On September 26, 1929, he was married to Regina Irene LaFlamme in the Sacred Heart Rectory in Massena. He was employed at Alcoa as a furnace operator, until retiring in 1970.
