Mr. Gray was a farmer on McIlwee Road from 1964 until 1986 when he became ill with cancer. Previously, he was a heavy-equipment operator for Hall Co. and the state Department of Transportation, both in Ogdensburg. He was a member of American Legion Post 69 for 21 years and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed restoring and repairing old cars.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter and her companion, Caroline LaRock and Donald Wert, Ogdensburg, seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Six brothers, Raymond, Richard, Laurance, Donald, Harvey and Robert, and a son-in-law, Kenneth "Rick" LaRock, died before him.
