| Birth: | Mar. 1, 1887 | | Death: | Apr. 9, 1958 |  Poet, Author. Elizabeth Hollister was born in Rochester, New York along with a twin sister Harriet Weed Hollister Spencer. She was the daughter of Emily Weed Hollister (1857-1932) and George C. Hollister (died 1932). Interesting mention is they were family friends of Susan B Anthony. She was married to Elliott Park Frost who was a professor of psychology at the U. of Rochester on June 3, 1916. After his death in 1926, Mrs. Frost began to write poetry and her first book of poems The Lost Lyrist, was published in 1928. Two other books of poetry, Hovering Shadow (1929) and The Closed Gentian (1931) followed. She wrote The Wedding Ring, in 1938 which was published earlier in England under the title of The Good Pain, This Side of Land in1942 and Mary and the Spinners in 1948. All her novels were dedicated to her late husband. On April 16, 1932 Elisabeth married again, this time to a man named Walter Blair. Elizabeth died of arterio sclerosis at the age of 71, she was a mother to Granger H. Frost, and grandmother to Eric and George Frost. (bio by: Paul G. Healy)
