Delmer D. Parsons, who lived in Fallon from 1905 and 1950, was laid to rest in the Fallon Cemetery Wednesday following funeral services at the Austin, Matson and Smith Funeral home.
Parsons, 80, died Saturday in a Reno Hospital. He was a resident of Fernley at teh time of his death.
He was born in Michigan on Dec. 30, 1902, and had moved to Fallon in 1905. He remained theere until 1950, when he moved to Idaho. In 1952 he moved to Herlong, Calif., where he stayed until retiring in 1959 from the Herlong Army Depot. He retired to Fernley.
He is survived by his widow, Utha of Hernley; three sons, Rodger, of Sparks, Delmer W., of Fernley, and David D., of Gabbs; eight daughters, Mildred Barcroft of Sparks, Patricis Howard, of Portland, Ore., Jacquline Olds, of San Francisco, Calif., Margaret Young, of Indiana, and Delvern West, Melba Gentry and Barbara Sunderland, all of Hawthorne; a brother Roy of Reno; 47 grandchildren and 16 great -grandchildren.
A daughter Linda Williams, died earlier.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the O'Brien, Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home in Reno.
