Daily Democrat, Clinton MO, Sep 27 2004 - Edna Fern (Kleinsorge) Schussler, daughter of Vincent and Mamie (Westhusing) Kleinsorge, was born June 11, 1933, in Burlington, Kansas. She died at the Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton September 10, 2004, at the age of 71 years. Edna lived in the Montrose and Germantown area most of her life. She was married to Reginald Joseph Schussler June 2, 1953, at the St. Ludger's Parish in Germantown and to this union seven children were born. She spent the early part of her life farming with her husband and raising her family until the age of 44 when she was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. She was a member of St. Ludger's Parish and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Reg; her parents; a grandchild, Christa Marie Schussler; two brothers, Carl and Earl Kleinsorge, and one sister Inez Whiles. Survivors include her five sons, two daughters and their families: Keith Schussler and wife Mary Lou, along with their children Mandy and husband Chad Vogel, and their daughter Abigayle of Montrose, Toby Schussler of Richmond, Virginia, Noah Schussler and Jared Westhusing of Independence, and Savanna Westhusing of Montrose; Kent Schussler and wife Paula, along with their children, Scott Schussler and Tara Conn and their daughter Jacie, Dallas, Texas, Jonathan and Michael Schussler of Montrose; Karol and husband Bill Grammer, Warsaw, along with their children, Chad and Randi Grammer and Kara Grammer of Independence; Kirk Schussler and wife Kim, Montrose, and son Derek, Lakeland, Florida; Kyle Schussler and daughter Nichole Schussler, Montrose; Kris Schussler and fiancee Dara Collins, Lowry City, and daughters Crystal, Chaning and Chelsay Schussler, Clinton; Kristina and husband Gary Klass and their son Parker Klass, Montrose; one sister, Ruby Whittmann of Shawnee, Kansas; one brother, Paul Kleinsorge, Shawnee, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Unlike Reg, Edna was a woman of many words, she never met a stranger. She had a heart of gold and a strong will to live. She inspired her family and friends with her positive attitude and the ability to handle what life sent her way. She loved her family and was very proud of them and they loved her in return, more than words can express. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. The funeral mass and rosary were held at Immaculate Conception Church, Montrose, September 13 and 14, with burial in St. Ludger's Cemetery, Germantown.
