Ray Everett Arrowood was my father. He was born in Gastonia, NC on May 23, 1922, he died from a oilfield accident on May 24, 1963 in Lea County, NM about ten miles north of Hobbs, NM where he lived at the time of his death. My father was a very hard worker, he loved his family very much and wanted nothing more than to spend as much time as he could with them. Sadly to say he was not able to do that much because of his job, he worked seven days a week for many years. The oilfield does not shut down that much so he only had vacations once in awhile when his rig was down, meaning not working at the time. I was 17 years old when my father died, it was a very hard time for me being that I was very close to him.
