Opal L. Windsor, 81, of Monte Vista, Colo. died Wed., May 14, 2008. Opal was born May 29, 1926, in Kendrick, Colo. to Clifford H. Allen and Gladys O. (Hitchcock) Allen. She was the oldest of ten children which included six sisters and three brothers.
In 1943 Opal married Herbert Z. Baker. He preceded her in death in 1986. They had six children, daughters Nancy (Duane) Jones of Denver, Colo., Judy (Art) Shaw of Monte Vista and Carol Helm of Denver; sons Jerry A. Baker and Keith Baker of Monte Vista and Randal J. (Darla) Baker of Grand Junction, Colo. They were also blessed with 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In 1988 Opal married Paul Windsor, who preceded her in death in 1997. She enjoyed the great outdoors and loved being in her garden tending to her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed raising her chickens.
Cremation was chosen and a graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Sat., June 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the SLV Cemetery in Monte Vista. After the service friends of the family are invited to gather at the Elks Lodge for refreshments and to share memories.
