Ralph `Cap' Lounsbury
RIRIE - Ralph Oren "Cap" Lounsbury, 88, of Delta, Utah, a retired longtime Ririe farmer and rancher, died March 26, 1994, at Delta of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 20, 1905, at Malta, to Ralph Andrew and Sarah Ellen Wake Lounsbury. He grew up on his father's ranch in Raft River Valley.

On Feb. 25, 1925, he married Alice Fern Broadhead in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Their early married years were spent in the Raft River and Rupert area. They then lived for a few years in Wyoming before moving to the Ririe area, where they lived for 40 years on Butler's Island and he farmed and raised cattle. He served on the ASCS board in Jefferson County, and as a director for the REA Electric Co-Op. They moved to Salt Lake City in the fall of 1964, and his wife died Oct. 16, 1974. On Feb. 15, 1975, he married June Davis McBride. They later moved to Delta, Utah.

He was an active member of the LDS Church.

Survivors include his wife of Delta; children, Jerry Robert Lounsbury of Germantown, Md., Mrs. Jim (Donna Fern) Jennings of Boise, Mrs. Ronald (Joyce) Barber of Archer, Helen Beth Olsen of Indio, Calif., and Mrs. Ray D. (Karma Sue) Brown of Ririe; stepdaughters, Kaye Montoya of Salt Lake City, and Roslyn Gill of Boston; sisters, Ressa Perrins of Deer Park, Wash., and Beaulah McEwen of Boulder City, Nev.; 23 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grand-child; and four stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Ririe LDS 2nd and Perry Wards, 285 Second West, in Ririe. The family will visit with friends from 11 a.m. Thursday until time of services at the church. Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.
