Albert Duane Baker was born June 5, 1909, in Ogdensburg, son of Fred and Elsie Shirley Baker , he graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and from the electrical studies program at Canton Agricultural and Technical College. He married Mary Leeson, a nurse, April 11, 1931, in the DeKalb Junction Methodist parsonage with the Rev. George Dando officiating.

Mr. Baker was an electrician at the former Diamond International Paper Mill, retiring in 1974 as a master electrician. A sportsman all his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing and gardening. He was a charter member of Barney Pond Fish and Game Club. Mr. Baker was a member, elder and trustee of First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Ogdensburg Masonic Lodge, the Ogdensburg Shrine Club. He was a board member of the former Ogdensburg Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mary Jane Jarrett, Morristown; a son, James A., Houston, Texas; a sister, Elizabeth Smith, Ogdensburg; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Five brothers, Walter, George, Fred S., Wesley and Allen Baker , and two sisters, Elsie Bateman and Grace Beswick, died before him.
