DEATH OF MRS. JOHN M. GRAHAM
Mrs. Missouri Roberts Graham, widow of the late John M. Graham, died at her home near Vancleave on December 16, 1934, the funeral being held the following day from the late home of deceased, Rev R.L. Vaughn, officiating.
Mrs. Graham was 82 years of age, was born, reared, married and died in the ancestral home on the Pascagoula river above Vancleave, where she lived a life of usefulness to her family her friends and to her church, the Methodist, filling a place in the community life that was marked by many deeds of charity and kindness.
Deceased is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Havens, and by four sons and four daughters, as follows; Steede Graham, Mrs. Sadie Graham, Joe Graham, Ernest Graham, Mrs. Delia Graham Bullard, Mrs. Lula Baria, Mrs. Valeda Hollingsworth, and J. Knox Graham, the latter being county tax assessor of Jackson County. In addition she is survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives in this section.
Thus passes another "good mother in Israel," and one of the few pioneer women of Jackson County - one who reared a family of children who became substantial citizens of the county, and whose memory will linger in the hearts and minds of many who knew her intimately.
To the bereaved ones the Advertiser extends sympathies and condolences.
