Moffat, Colo. resident Lela M. Clayton, 89, died April 4, 2008 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa, Colo. Lela was born in Schackleford County, Texas, on May 14, 1918 to Dawson and Julia Lilly Williams. She married Cyril Clayton on Sept. 17, 1939 in Snyder, Texas. He preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 2005. Lela was a cook and homemaker. Her home and her grandchildren were her life.

She is survived by her children Carson (Betty) Clayton of Colorado City, Texas, Glenda Stagner of Moffat, Eddie Clayton of Hooper, Colo. and Judy (Bob) Bunker of Moffat; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren also survive. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Graveside services were held at 11 am Tue, April 8, 2008. at the Rito Alto Cemetery. Visitation was Mon, April 7, from 4-8 at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa. Contributions are requested to the Moffat Fire Department through the mortuary office. Arrangements are in care of Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa.

cousin Eddie, so sorry we didn't keep in contact. I remember the Sundays we all came to ya;lls place in Ira ,Texas and played behind the barn and all over the farm. Love Danny Clayton
