Paul Emile Leguenec Sr.
LEGUENEC Paul Emile Leguenec, Sr., on Monday July 7, 2008. Beloved husband of Evelyn "Eve" Bowen Leguenec. Loving father, and children with his first wife the late Mae Gerchaw Leguenec, of Beverly Roberts, Sandra Perrien, and Paul Emile Leguenec, III. Grandfather of Christopher, Jennifer and Paul Leguenec, IV, and Lasa and Caroline Yarbrough. Great grandfather of Carly Yarbrough. He was a graduate of Alcee Fortier High School, a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and Bronze Star recipient, retired Branch Manager with the Social Security Administration after 37 years of service with the U.S. Government, a member of American Legion Home 175, VFW Post 6640 and Washington Artillery Veterans Association. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Master Mason, past Worshipful Master of the Ionic Masonic Lodge (now known as Linn Wood Masonic Lodge), a member of Knight Templar of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana and member of Metairie Lodge 444.. He was a member of Jerusalem Temple and held high office within Shrine units, past president of the East Bank Shrine Club, and also a member of High Twelve Club of New Orleans where he served as past president. He was a volunteer in the hospital accounts department of East Jefferson General Hospital for 14 years, where he was Volunteer of the Month for March 2002. He was active for many years as a Ham Radio Operator Using call letters W5DVK and an avid photographer, many times developing his own negatives. He will be remembered for his remarkable intellect and was a candidate for membership in the Mensa Organization. Age 88 years. A native of Abbeville, LA and a resident of New Orleans and Metairie for over 50 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 12 Noon, on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at GARDEN OF MEMORIES FUNERAL HOME, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie.
