Israel Hatch was born 25 Mar 1667 in Scituate, MA. He is the son of Walter Hatch and Elizabeth Holbrook. On 27 Jul 1699 he married Elizabeth Hatch. Israel and Elizabeth were second cousins; his paternal grandfather, William Hatch, and her paternal grandfather, Thomas Hatch, were brothers. Together they had six children: Lydia, Sarah, Israel, Elizabeth, David and Jonathan. He died 11 Oct 1740, at age 74.
