Masons Conduct Rites for Pioneer Resident
Luther L. Botkin, aged 68, passed away Friday morning at his home near Charlo after a lingering illness. Mr. Botkin was born at Honeybend, Ill., but came to Butte early in manhood and there served on the police force until he came to the Flathead valley in 1912. He has since been engaged in ranching in the Charlo district.
The deceased is survived by his widow. He was a charter member of the Big Flat Pioneers and of Flathead Lodge No. 112, A.F. & A.M., St. Ignatius.
Funeral services were held at the Masonic temple at St. Ignatius Sunday with the Flathead lodge in charge and Rev. J. Ashworth of Ronan and H.A. Tasker of St. Ignatius officiating. The pallbearers were A.R. Hodges, T.B. Williamson, John Dishman, J.W. Dunbar, C.H. Dexter and Albert Repass. Interment was made in the Pleasant View cemetery at St. Ignatius.
