John Junior Fall was born on January 30, 1922 in Bussey, IA the son of John and Mary Ann "Polly" Rogers Fall.

Junior attended Bussey Schools and as a young man, he worked as a mechanic. In Oct. 1942 he enlisted in the US. Army Air Corps. During the World War II, he was involved in the Battles of Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland nad Central Europe. He was honorably discharged in Oct. 1945 and returned home. He worked most of his life in the family business, Jude Coal Mine. In May of 1970 he was united in marriage to Iogene Avon. The couple made their home in Bussey and had many happy years before Iogen passed away in Feb. 1990. In 2002 Junior moved to Knoxville and made his home at Park Lane Village. On August 25, 2004, he was united in marrage to Carol DeJoode Agan. Although married only a few months, the couple shared and undeniable bond of mutual love and respect.

When he wasn't working, Junior enjoyed being outsied tinkering on machinery or cars, or just fishing. He was also a life member of the Bussey American Legion.

Junior passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2004 at the Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 82 yrs, 10 mos and 13 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers; William Walton, Gerald Roger and Dale in infancy; a sister Irene Boles and a grandson Jeffrey Avon.

Those left to honor his memory include his living wife, Carol, step-children, Cliff & Vicki Avon of Mechanicsville, Gary & Connie Holmes of Glidden, Robert and Maggie Avon of Davenport, and Diana and Kent Borchert of Melcher; eight grandchildren; Amy (Scott) Bender, Megan (Tom) Cox, Genie (Jeff) Greiner, Michael (Kay) Holmes, Colleen Avon, Annie Avon, Abigail Borchert and Briana Borchert; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wilma Wagner of Phoenix, AZ and many other family and friends.
