Mr. Clark was also at the head of a local water system that served a small portion of the town besides the business section, and Mr. Van Etta was the mechanical man in charge. He was reliable and always measured up to the confidence and trust his employer imposed in him.

Mr. Van Etta has been a widower for twenty-one years, his wife, Elizabeth Lattice Van Etta, dying at the home of her son in Utica in January, 1895.

Mr. Van Etta is survived by one son, Oscar Van Etta, of Canajoharie, and an aged sister, Nancy Jane, widow of
Charles King, who makes her home with her daughter, Mrs. Egbert Schoonmaker, on Wheelock street.
