Daniel Hempy Is Dead.


Daniel Hempy died Wednesday night at the home of his son, O.P. Hempy, Eighth and Gordon streets, Hyde Park, following a lingering illness, at the age of 84 years. Death was due to a general breakdown incident to old age. He had been bedfast since Jan. 6, last.


Daniel Hempy was born near Columbus, O., in 1827. In 1880 he removed to Cambridge, Kansas, where he resided until 1906. For the last five years he had made his home with his son in Hyde Park.


The funeral services will be in charge of the Rev. A.C. Zumbrunnen of the Hyde Park Methodist church and will be from the residence of O.P. Hempy in Hyde Park at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon. The body will be forwarded to Cambridge, Kan., for burial. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Bertha Yoakam of Rogers, Ark.; Mrs. Alice Musgrave, Santiago, Calif.; Milo Hempy, Santiago, Calif.; Remus Hempy, Montour, Ia; William Hempy, Eugene, Ore.; and O.P. Hempy, of South St. Joseph.
