Fighting in the Welterweight Division, he won a decision victory over Ireland's Frederick Tiedt to finish in first place. Linca became the first boxer from Romania to win a gold medal and is the only one to date. He died of complications from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. (bio by: C.S.)
